Fatigue is generally defined as a feeling of lack
of energy and motivation that can be physical, mental
or both. Fatigue is not the same as drowsiness, but
the desire to sleep may accompany fatigue.
Physical fatigue is the inability to continue functioning
at the level of one's normal abilities.
If fatigue occurs without an obvious cause, it is
important to evaluate your mental health. Fatigue
is a common symptom of mental health problems, such
as anxiety or depression.
In recent studies Driver alertness and performance
were more consistently related to time-of-day than
to time-on-task. Drowsiness episodes were 8 times
more likely between midnight and 6 a.m. than during
other times.
